Governor Raimondo Sponsored Skate 2-3pm

The inauguration of the first woman governor in Rhode Island Gina Raimondo was held this week, but now it’s the public’s chance to celebrate with her and her family at several free “Make It in Rhode Island” events. On Saturday, Jan. 10 from 11 a.m.−2 p.m., an open house will be held at the State House followed by a family ice skating event at the Alex and Ani City Center skating rink from 2-3 p.m. The events are hosted by Governor Raimondo and her husband, First Gentleman Andy Moffit and the governor’s Inaugural Committee, they are free and open to the public, and will include some of Rhode Island’s best restaurants and food and drink producers offering free samples.

After you’ve had your fill of the state’s culinary and artistic pride and joy, head on over to the Providence Rink from 2−3 p.m. Governor Raimondo and her husband, First Gentleman Andy Moffit, and their two children, Ceci and Tommy, will be skating around the ice with the public. Lace up your free skates and glide around with them at the rink. Hot apple cider and donuts will be provided by Easy Entertaining.
